My mom has been raving about Ding, the new service from Southwest Airlines, ever since it went online... but I kept resisting (because, oh yeah... I need yet ANOTHER program running on my desktop). However, today she called to let me know that Ding was running a really good special between here and Sacramento... I'd been planning a trip in the next week or two to visit my grandparents there (my grandmother is undergoing treatment for cancer again), and we'd pretty much resigned ourselves to having to fork out around $350 for the flight (I would normally just drive, but my shoulders are still not up to that kind of thing yet).
I did some quick checking around on review websites... made sure I wasn't about to install all sorts of spyware or adware crap on my system. Read VERY carefully through the user agreements and decided to give it a go. So, I signed up, got it all installed, got today's deals... and yowza! $108 round trip on non-stop flights from Seattle to Sacramento! Wow!
So, if you travel a lot to the sort of places Southwest goes... you might want to look into Ding. It seems to be especially geared toward people like me who are just as prone to drive that sort of distance, but will fly if the price is cheap enough.
