Veronica Mars Finale

Did that seem... rushed to anyone else? I mean, really rushed? As in so rushed that some of the scene editing seemed horribly choppy and almost like they were going through a checklist of items they needed to touch on, one after another as quickly as possible, because they'd forgotten to bring them up earlier? It threw off the pacing too, and toward the end it started to feel like all the scenes were stumbling over one another.

Other than that...

Is Lamb dead?!?!!? No!!!!! Or was he not on the plane instead of Keith?

Kyle Gallner pulled off sick and malevolent really well. Not sure how I feel about the retcon of the rape... because it's not *exactly* a retcon, but it just seems like a bit much to pile onto his character.

I was a bit worried about Duncan possibly sucking away precious airtime from the rest of the characters, but that was really the perfect amount of screentime for him.

I'm still unclear how Veronica made the leap from "Woody Goodman molested several boys on the little league team" to "and one of them MUST be responsible for the bus crash." Did I miss something somewhere?

I was in the camp of people who thought it was Gia who blew up the bus, but for some reason Beaver was not a huge surprise.

Poor Weevil. But doesn't FC have the most beautiful eyelashes?

Dick is such a cad, but it's hard not to love him anyway...

So were Logan and Veronica already on their way to getting back together before the finale and I missed it? I thought he was wonderful, as he always is when push comes to shove, but the whole kissy-face in the hallway seemed to come out of nowhere, considering how she's been treating him all year. At least Keith seems to approve of him now.

I'm really glad we got to see Logan and Veronica back together, but wow... rushed. Really rushed (okay, I need to dig out my thesaurus and quit using that word). And it's looking like, once again, the writers going to cheat us out of seeing them start up a relationship, which really, really sucks.

All in all, I actually did enjoy it... although I think I would have liked it more if some of the plot points had actually been mentioned earlier in the season and built up a bit more. It played a little too much like the writers suddenly realized "Oh no! We have to tie everything up! Quick, who can we have be the killer?!? I know, let's have him torture puppies, destroy the economy of small countries and also be the first guy who raped Veronica!" It left me feeling a little bit like the rest of the season wasn't connected to the finale at all.

Glad I wasn't the only one feeling lost there. I put it down to not paying enough attention - I'm terrible at picking the killer in murder mysteries - but maybe they really didn't telegraph it enough?' Beaver was never the sort I thought would have it in him to do all of that. Shows you what I know, I guess.

I am glad about the V/L resolution, though. I quite like them together. They did seem to be sort of dancing around each otehr for the past few eps, but yeah, it did seem kind of rushed at the end there. No, I don't have a thesaurus either. :D

Dick is such... a dick. But mostly harmless.

Poor Weevil's G'ma...

Well, on the up side, it's the first episode I've sat all the way through.

On the downside, I'm still 'meh' on the series.

Yeah, very meh. Basil Exposition much, Veronica? "And then you did so he'd think so that I'd think but that really isn't how it WAS, was it, Beaver? THIS is what was REALLY happening!" And to call Bell's performance workmanlike is being kind -- she's like a little automaton now, which is horrible because I know what a good actress she is. Jesus.

And I hope all the V/L 'shippers recognized the grudging BONE tossed to them, probably to be followed by yet another off-camera over-the-summer relationship and breakup. Clean slate for the CW, kids!

It was the first entire episode I've watched this season as well, but I wouldn't exactly call it an up side. With this it's clear RT really only had one good season in him (and I still can't get over how awful Steve Guttenberg looked, or that they killed off the cheestastic Haaron).

Oh yeah -- and I hope more than ever that the always-great Dohring gets the hell out of dodge before next season (if there is one). He's being utterly wasted here.

Guttenberg does look AWFUL these days. Barely recognizable at all.

And I do have to admit that part of the reason I made it through the entire episode was that I was making up my bed at the time (brand new bed! whee!!!)

I had the feeling they wanted to tie everything up because of the real possibility they won't be picked up by CW (which they only knew would exist partway through the season) yet wanted to leave a little bit dangling in case they were.

"Is Lamb dead?!?!!? No!!!!! Or was he not on the plane instead of Keith?"

I hadn't thought of that. You just made my night! :)

I wasn't at all surprised about Logan and Veronica, especially after she bolted at the party after his admission, then finding he'd slept with Kendall (my main suspect). He did it because she hurt him, V did it because she was afraid of her feelings.

Yeah, I agree. So much exposition up on the roof - let's have Veronica explain everything to the viewers because we made everything so complicated they'll never understand it otherwise. :-)

Still, I enjoyed the character interactions, and Cassidy did make sense. I would have preferred they left the L/V a little more ambiguous - that would have been more realistic.

Weevil is very pretty.

And I'm sad that we won't have Aaron Echolls to entertain us creep us out anymore.

The eps have felt rushed and crammed full of "checklist" stuff for several weeks, now. I can't say I noticed anything about the editing, but I was surprised that with so much to wrap up, they'd stop everything for a dream sequence. Not that I didn't enjoy it. Especially V subconsciously choosing Logan over Duncan. Nice surprise, that :)

Is Lamb dead?!?!!? No!!!!! Or was he not on the plane instead of Keith?
Heh, I was pretty sure that Keith never got on that plane, so I've been all aflutter about Lamb, too!

Not sure how I feel about the retcon of the rape... because it's not *exactly* a retcon, but it just seems like a bit much to pile onto his character.
Ditto. I'm actually having more trouble reconciling the rape than I am the murders.

And it's looking like, once again, the writers going to cheat us out of seeing them start up a relationship, which really, really sucks.
Right?!?! I don't like how the show passports a lot of the good stuff with them. From their Summer of Love to the "I've done something horrible" conversation to the part between awkwardness and kissy-face. I want the in-between stuff, dammit!

Very rushed. As if they were trying to pack a three hour episode into 50 minutes and if you blinked or, god forbid, left the room you were totally lost.
