Alan Tudyk's career. It's really been taking off... and he was probably the one least likely to be available for future movies. They've still got a lot of wiggle room, if his schedule is amenable, to put him in future movies -- in flashbacks or by setting the films before "Serenity" (which is what Chris Buchanan hinted at during the Q&A after the Portland Advance Screening). But this way they don't have to try to do a movie set after "Serenity" with him if he isn't available for it.
