Saturday night "Firefly" Mini-marathon at the Kirkland Performance Center = Fun, fun, fun! A theatre filled with around 300 other fans, watching four episodes on a big screen... there's nothing like it! Managed to meet up with sdwolfpup before the show, but couldn't see her once we got in and sat down... at least until the first intermission, when I realized she was sitting about three seats down from me on the same row! Oh, and apparently the folks at Kirkland Performance Center are thinking of doing this again sometime with different episodes!
Zoë and Polly have managed to meet through the baby gate at the top of the stairs, which has led to a number of rather alarming sounding spats (the most vocal one being this evening when I think there was actual physical contact for the first time -- I suspect it startled them both). We've realized that we'd really gotten used to having geriatric cats, and Zoë most definitely is not. In fact, she's a little bundle of barely suppressed energy, and she's already managed to gut several cat toys, just in the last week.
We briefly entertained the notion of going to London over Thanksgiving this year, but instead have ended up with rather elaborate plans to install hardwood flooring upstairs (ourselves! Yes, we're insane). And yeah, the two ideas were connected, but now I'm not entirely sure how.
I've really been enjoying City of Heroes, though I need to check around online for some hints on gameplay... I'm sure there's got to be more to it than just running around and beating on bad guys (not that there's anything wrong with that).
Bought tickets to the Seattle Symphony's Star Wars Spectacular in two weeks... making sure I picked a time that wasn't going to interfere with "Serenity" opening weekend festivities.
Happiness is... brand new 500 thread count sheets (and the coupon and sale at Linens-N-Things that made them more affordable). Thanks to our little shopping trip, there's also a new hypo-allergenic feather-bed mattress topper in the Ultimate Guest Room (aka The Island Room), making it better than ever... just in time for a visit from my step-mother later this week!
"The Pirate Movie" is just as silly as I remember.
Oh! And I discovered that my favorite Thai restaurant, Racha, has wi-fi! So now I can enjoy my favorite dish, Crying Tiger, or the ever-delicious Tom Yum soup while surfing the net. Life is good.

Ooh! Ooh! I was hoping you would start playing! I'm not sure what you're looking for so far, but have you been doing missions? Really, it's not much more than running around beating up bad guys, but it's a lot of fun if you do it with a group, if you get a good group, that is. We actually have a supergroup on Infinity if you'd like to join us. The only catch is that your hero has to be inspired by a character in the Buffyverse. Not a copy of anyone, just taking one or two elements for inspiration. For example, my character Rippermage is a fighter with dark magic, aka early Giles, while mydeira's ChaosRayne has electrical and energy powers, i.e. chaosy like Ethan. There are lots of ways to interpret it (I still want to see a tanker character with a war mace for Xander. "I can drywall you into next week!"), but we'd love to have you join us! We pretty much play every Saturday, although we probably won't this week as I'll be scrambling to make my BIAW goal. In the meantime, go to www.cityofheroes.com and check out the forums. Tons of good information in amongst all the whining.
Did you happen to see Oprah, yesterday? She showed the rather tense process of introducing her three new blonde labs to her 10-year-old dog. The older dog was not so impressed. ::smirk::
Hopefully the feline relations in the house will settle, soon!
I remember I liked The Pirate Movie (I was a young teenager, of course), but since then of course I've seen several versions of the actual Pirates of Penzance, which is just as silly but a lot better. Still, there's some things about it they changed about the story I remember, like the Pirate King ending up with Ruth... :)
Arrrrgh! The Pirate Movie? I HATE that movie! TERRIBLE!!! OMG! HATE!
Seriously. deeablo showed it to me once, and my brain shut down from the sheer awfulness of it all. "Pumpin and Blowin" is NOT appropriate. NOT. Wow. Awful.
That said, she and I lobby every year to get The Pirate Movie shown at B-Fest (http://www.b-fest.com). So far, no luck. They don't seem to understand that it's really one of the worst movies around.

Of course, these days I imagine it probably is truly silly. But back then ...

Freeform association is a wonderful thing. (Re: your two holiday ideas being related.)

I can just picture the two of them accidentally touching and then leaping back in shock, thinking, "Cooties!"
