San Diego Comic Con

Sort of an addendum to my earlier entry...

Anyone planning on going to SDCC? This one's a little less likely for me, since I'd have to fly and I'd have to get a hotel room or find someone to room with, but it's still getting tossed around in the back of my brain. But I'm still considering the idea... I've wanted to go to SDCC for ages.

I'm going with [livejournal.com profile] 10zlaine and [livejournal.com profile] lonners. It looks so cool that I can't resist. :)

I'm not going this year, because I'm going to SFX in August. But maybe next year? If you don't go this year and want to team up for next, let me know.

That sounds like fun! Keep me in mind... since I doubt [livejournal.com profile] rackham would be able to get the time off next year, either, and having a roomie makes it much more affordable (not to mention fun)!

*sigh* I really wish I could make it to SFX this year, since it sounds like all the cool kids will be there... but it's only a week or so before GenCon, and there's no way I could afford both of them so close together.

That'll be great, fen. It's been too long since we last got together. I'll start saving for next year now.

Yay!

It really is too bad you can't make it to SFX, because I think it's going to be a blast, not just because James and Adam are going to be there, but because of the great cast of fans. I'm really looking forward to it.

Sadly I can't offer much in the way of room sharing (or socializing for that matter, since I'll be working) but I can sell you a t-shirt!

You should definitely try and make it -- SDCC is an order of magnitude more intense than any other convention in the *world*.

Be sure to try to fit in some fun in between the working!

I wound up deciding not to go... I can really only afford to travel for one big convention this year, and I'm going to stick with GenCon in August. I was also able to find someone on eBay who was selling the one "SDCC Only" item I really wanted to get (a Werewolf Oz doll), which certainly takes the pressure off!

Impossible. Don't get me wrong -- I love my work, so the show *is* inherently fun...but for a vendor, SDCC is a looong stretch of one fourteen hour days after another.

And you go to GenCon? I usually work that one too -- I'm just not going this year because my Mom's having surgery.

Next year if you go, you're definitely going to have to cruise by and introduce yourself!
