fenchurchHope everyone had a fun New Year's Eve! We'd been planning on going to over to visit some friends for the festivities last night, but were both still a bit tired from our trip to Utah for Christmas (it wouldn't have been so bad, but our flight home was *late* Monday night... and we didn't actually get home until around 1:00am after a fairly long day). We thought we'd be fine getting there and would have fun, but doubted our ability to drive home afterward without falling asleep. So, we had our very first New Year's Eve at home in the new house, watching the Space Needle go *FOOM* on the big screen in our basement. Pretty cool, actually, even if it was a struggle to stay awake!
I think I'll try to do my roundup of last year's goals tomorrow... as well as talking about my goals for this year. I'm currently trying to decide whether to try the photo a day thing again, since I only made it about halfway through the year last year before dropping out (it was the week or so of no real internet access that did me in... I still kept taking photos, I could just never bring myself to catch up on posting).
So, just in case I decide to go for it, here's a photo of our Christmas tree... since it's likely we'll be taking it down in the next day or two.
It's amazing how many of the ornaments on there are from our first few years of marriage... usually picked up at after-Christmas sales or at a nearby store that sold discontinued items. They've held up remarkably well after all this time! The tree is the new artificial one we got a little over a year ago and, right after we got it assembled this year, the lights quit working. We were pretty impressed with how quickly the company responded and how fast they were at getting us the new part we needed to get them up and running again.
We also had to do a bit of furniture rearranging this year... the spot where we put it last year is now taken up by Muerte the Gecko's tank, so instead we moved the extra chair from the living room back into our bedroom (it's still so freakin' cool that we have a bedroom large enough for more than just a bed!) and put the tree there. Now I'm not sure what's going to happen when we take the tree down, because we've decided we really like having the chair where it is... might have to start watching for furniture sales and get another one for the living room!
