We'd originally planned to spend Saturday geocaching on a small island in Puget Sound... and then we sort of slept in a bit too late (considering we've both been waking up at around 6:00-ish for the past week or so, whether we wanted to or not, this was something of a minor miracle). We ended up deciding it would be the perfect day to start looking for a new couch, since we had a bit of time and we were both in town (also something of a minor miracle these days). So, we headed down to the place Sumner, WA where we bought our last sofa and loveseat...
The Old Cannery Furniture Store.

The place really is an old cannery and, I believe, has several acres of space... filled with furniture. We'd intended to go down there and just look, but ended up finding exactly what we were looking for. Okay, not exactly, since we'd sort of been looking for a new sofa for the living room with the intention of moving the old one to the basement, and instead we found the perfect sofa for the basement. Probably better all around, anyway, because it meant we didn't need to try to carry the thing upstairs!
At the suggestion of the employee who'd been helping us, we ended up renting a truck from Home Depot in Puyallup (calling first to make sure it was available and then calling my brother-in-law to see if he'd be available on the other end to get the thing into the house). About 1/4 the cost of having it delivered and after we returned the rental truck, we were able to swing into our favorite restaurant in Auburn, WA for dinner. Quite a bit of win, all the way around.
