I know, that's sort of redundant... but this was pretty funny.

For some reason, our cat Zoë will occasionally try to sneak outside if we leave the front door open for too long. The thing is, she seems to want to GET outside, but she doesn't actually want to BE outside. She'll dash out the door and then zip immediately under the front porch, where we often have to spray her with water to get her out (and even before that, she'll often just huddle there, complaining about how icky the outside is). The thing is, it's usually a lengthy and annoying process that takes two people to get her out from under the porch and back in the house. (Once, she got out on our old back deck and tried her "zip under the porch" trick, except the deck is on the second floor back there... so instead she stayed huddled on the edge of the deck, staring in disbelief at the dropoff and grousing at us because, apparently, it was our fault she couldn't reach the ground (seriously, she kept grumbling at us even after we took her back in the house... I've never had a cat who could grumble quite as well as Zoë does)).

So, this morning the produce delivery guy showed up and I popped out to grab our bin and to tell him to be careful out there... we're getting our first big snowfall of the year. And, of course, she took advantage of the open door to zoom outside and under the front deck.

Great.

I closed the door and went to get socks and shoes (and give the produce delivery guy time to pull away so there wouldn't be any distractions for Zoë). About three minutes later, I open the door, full prepared to have to crawl under the front porch... to find Zoë huddled in the doorway (she actually fell into the house when I opened the door), covered in snow. She proceeded to chew me out, I guess for having allowed her to get out with all that horrid white stuff falling from the sky, in the first place.

I just don't understand what goes through her tiny kitty brain.

This sounds hilariously like my cat that is like - *DASH* anytime we open the door. Although most of the time she gets out on the porch, stares at the outside and comes back in again.
