Interesting. Out here, you can only vote in your own party's primary, unless you're a registered Independant, and in that case you can chose which primary to vote in. They changed that several years back from the old system, wherein independants were shut out of the primaries altogether.
When I went to vote in our primaries last week, I went at the end of the work day, and I was only the forty-eighth person to vote in our entire district. It's scary.
