Sultan River
Feb. 3rd, 2014 04:39 pmToday turned out to be one of those wonderfully beautiful, clear and COLD days (okay, not as cold as some parts of the country, but it never got above the upper 30s) and I decided I just had to go for a nice walk in the woods... so I headed up to Sultan, WA to explore Sultan Osprey Park. It really was just a stunningly beautiful day... even with no leaves on the trees aside from the evergreens, the moss covered trees against that blue sky were just gorgeous. I found the Geocache I was looking for in the park pretty easily, despite repeatedly getting distracted by the Sultan River. I wonder how the fishing is along there? I found a bunch of places that looked like they'd be great spots for it.
( Crisp, clear day on the river. )
It occurred to me while I was out on the trail that just a few year ago, before I figured out the issue I have with cow's milk, there's no way I could have done a 40 minute walk in the woods like that in those temperatures... within five minutes, I would have had an asthma attack that likely would have resulted in developing bronchitis. So nice being able to withstand those lower temperatures and, even better, some exertion at the same time! It's those sort of moments that I try to recall when I'm at a party or event and realize all the food has milk and I have to pass up on some really delicious looking things. In the end, it's totally worth it.
