Numfar and the Bendy Straw
Jan. 21st, 2014 05:43 pmLast year, when we were still in the old house, I was getting something out of one of the storage cupboards in the laundry room when a bag of bendy straws fell out. It happened to be open and the straws scattered all over the floor, making that rather distinctive noise you get when plastic straws hit a solid, flat surface... and Numfar came running in. I picked up the fallen straws, tossed them in the garbage and didn't think any more about it, until later that day when Numfar came sauntering in with her new favorite toy: the Bendy Straw. All I can guess is that she'd snatched one up while I wasn't looking and had hidden it somewhere.
Since then, Bendy Straws have become a constant presence in our house... and I really don't mind. They're cheap, so when they get chewed up (and they do), I just toss them and grab a few more from the bag. And much like the sparkly balls that are her other favorite toy, one of her favorite things to do with them is to play Fetch.
