More Volcano!!!
May. 2nd, 2009 10:07 amFirst off, can I just say "ow"? Apparently, spending a day hiking over solidified lava can make you very, VERY sore.
( We headed over to the volcano side of the island along the northern route... (with photos) )
We tallied up around three hours of hiking over very rough terrain yesterday, and wow are we feeling it today. I was especially surprised to find my ankles all achy this morning -- they had more of a workout than they're used to, going over all the crags.
Today is going to be much more relaxing, visiting some of the sights on the Kona side of the island and maybe doing a bit of swimming. I can't believe we're heading home tomorrow!
