Today we drove up the middle of the island, stopping at the Dole Plantation to try out the hedge maze (back in 2001 it was the largest in the world and might be again, since it looks like they've added even more recently). Wow! After about 45 minutes of wandering around and finding only three of the "stations" we were looking for (and getting completely turned around to the point that we were likely covering ground we'd already seen), we made our way back up to the front and got the cheat sheet (aka the map). It still wasn't easy, since it's a very complex maze and we really had to work to keep track of where we were. So, an hour and 15 minutes after we started, we stumbled our way out of the maze (the current record is 5 minutes... yes, really).

More of the day under the cut, to spare my flist )

And now, I think I'm going to collapse. So weird being someplace that's three hours behind my home time zone. I'm used to either going so far away that it doesn't really relate, or going three hours in the other direction. This mostly means that by around 9:00pm, I'm starting to wind down already. By 10:30, I'm feeling decidedly zombie-like!
