The beginning of April
Apr. 1st, 2009 11:24 pmThe day started off on a weird foot... with snow. No joke! It didn't stick, but it snowed for most of the morning and then sort of sidled into being slushy rain for the rest of the day. Ugh. What gives, April???
( I forgot to mention that we had a party for Rackham's birthday last Saturday... )
I've continued to really enjoy our deliveries from Mother Nature's Organic Delivery and have discovered a new favorite: Minneola Tangelos. Basically, they taste like tangerines should. I had been describing them as being nature's candy, but have decided that they're really a form of crack. Oh, yeah.
I still had a bunch of kale leftover from last week's delivery and decided to try my hand at making kale chips... I'll definitely be doing that again. Yummy and light and crunchy. A nice snack.
I was going to make a post about all the books I finished in March, but apparently I am made of fail... because while I started three different books, I finished none of them. Hopefully that means April will be a full book month!
And I found out today why I hadn't heard from my mom since last week: salmonella. She knows where she got it (apparently a number of people in town got it from the same place) and she's starting to feel a bit better, but it's probably going to be a bit before she's fully recovered. Yikes!
