Tidbits of the last week and a half
Jan. 16th, 2009 10:09 amYou know, looking back over the past week and a half, I'm a bit surprised to note that I haven't actually updated here since we got back from Utah. Wow. So, apparently thinking really hard about the stuff I wanted to write in my LJ doesn't really count, no matter how convinced my brain becomes that it does (not cool, brain... not cool).
Nothing huge has happened...
rackham spent a week being really sick (which makes life incredibly difficult because whenever one of us is ill we institute the No Kissing rule... do you know how HARD that is?), until he finally went to the doctor, got diagnosed with a sinus infection and put on medication, and started getting better almost immediately. Yay modern medicine!!
Last week, I got to go on a field trip to the fire station with the Cub Scouts. That was fun!! I haven't done that since I was probably their age... and a lot has changed since then. I kind of wish they did those sorts of tours for adults from time to time, because it was quite educational. Especially now that I've actually experienced being rescued by EMTs and getting to ride in an ambulance (something I hope I never have to do again).
I've switched back to reading Janet Evanovich books while I work out... I tried reading Harry Dresden books (since I'm still running behind on that series), but they didn't lend themselves well to the short spurts of reading I'm able to do that way. While I'm enjoying JE's books, they're much easier to put down when the timer on the LifeCycle is done.
( The biggest news, I guess, is that I decided to head back down to Utah next month for Life, the Universe and Everything 27: The Marion K. 'Doc' Smith Symposium on Science Fiction and Fantasy. )
