I love modern technology
Nov. 10th, 2006 09:57 amI'm sitting, at the moment, in the waiting area of our local Hyundai dealership... it was just time for an oil change, but for some reasons dealerships always take four or five times as long to do these sorts of things (considering Jiffy Lube boasts a ten minute service). OTOH, it's free... or at least lifetime oil changes were included when we bought the car.
And, of course, they now have wi-fi!!! Technically, they've had it for awhile... for themselves. And let me tell you, there's nothing more annoying and frustrating than sitting with your laptop at a table in the waiting area with a friggin' LinkSys wireless router in plain sight about two feet away and not being able to access it. So, yay modern technology! And yay to car dealerships who finally realized the customers might want to use it too!
In other news, it's raining cats and dogs again. We had a few days of drizzle with a couple of hours here and there of clear blue sky, but the downpour is back. Keep in mind that in the first seven days of the month we'd already exceeded the average rainfall for the entire month of November by two inches. Maybe I *should* start watching for the guy with the boatbuilding hobby and the exotic animal collection.
And the downside to having wi-fi here now? I'd actually brought my laptop to maybe do a little working on NaNoWriMo, since my wordcount really sucks. I've done about 500 more words than I did in the entire month of November last year, but trust me... that's not saying much.
