In Sacramento
Jun. 2nd, 2006 02:54 pmHad a great flight down! My grandparents took me out to dinner last night at this wonderful little Italian place up in Woodland (at least I believe it was Woodland) that they'd stumbled across during the last Highland Games. Yummy food at a very good price.
I've been remembering why I live in Seattle though... it's rather aggressively sunny here, which is taking some getting used to, and it's HOT. It's around 85 right now... and I know that doesn't seem bad to some of you, but it was about 60 and pouring rain when I left Seattle yesterday. It makes for a rather stark contrast!
I won't be heading out the Olive Pit on this trip after all, as sanity and a map have won out. You know, when you're driving all the way down from Seattle, it doesn't seem all that far out of Sacramento, but it's actually nearly two hours north! Oops. I might have to see about hitting the website and doing some mail-ordering (garlic stuffed olives, yum!).
I've also already started in on standard vacation duties (AKA fixing all the computers and miscellaneous electronica). I've already set clocks on several VCRs and the microwave (I have a knack for those things and NEVER need to read documentation to figure them out), fixed the screen size on a laptop, and deleted Norton's Anti-virus (ha!) from the laptop and the desktop and installed something that actually works without deleting essential OS files. I suspect we may be heading out computer shopping later this weekend though, as my grandfather has mentioned several times that he wants a new desktop... he'd rather do it when I'm here to give advice.
And lastly, the wireless security we set up the last time I was here is still working, so I've got broadband on my laptop! Yay!!
