Greetings from Missoula!
Apr. 23rd, 2006 11:18 pmWe actually stayed at my dad's place last night, about 40 miles north of Spokane... a visit filled with lots and lots of work on their computers and internet connection (this is not an uncommon occurance -- I think they save up computer problems just for us). On our way out of town, we stopped for dinner at The Onion (a sort of gourmet burger restaurant in North Spokane). I think I may have freaked our waiter out a bit when he asked us if we'd ever eaten there before... and I answered "Yeah, but it's been almost 20 years." I suspect that's longer than he'd been alive. *I'mnotfeelingoldI'mnotfeelingold*
As you can see by the subject line, we've made it as far as Missoula, Montana tonight... Not a bad place to stop, really. It's a college town and a pretty decent size, so there are plenty of nice hotels, almost all of which have broadband of some sort, and there's a Cracker Barrel restaurant if the hotel's breakfast ends up really sucking.
Tomorrow we head into Idaho Falls to visit my grandmother for the night, hopefully with a stop by Aussie Eats at some point! Tuesday, we'll be going the rest of the way into Utah, to visit my in-laws and also have some fun hitting some of the sights... Part of the reason for this trip is to show our various relatives that we're doing much better now, especially the ones who last saw us looking like we were on the losing side of a soccer brawl, and part is to pick up all the stuff we left at my in-laws' place when we flew home after the accident, but the other reason is for a plain old vacation. Even though we lived in the state before, there are still a lot of fun things we never got around to doing and places we never got around to seeing.
