This and that
Jul. 19th, 2005 09:32 pmReally going to town on the yard, but it's paying off... things are starting to look good again, and while the weeds aren't gone, at least you can't see as many of them. Plus, really good exercise!
rackham and I are reading the new Harry Potter book concurrently, which means he gets it when he's home and awake, and I get it pretty much the rest of the time... which, sadly, I've mostly spent doing yardwork! :-p Needless to say, neither of us has gotten terribly far. It's been fun, though, talking about our theories as we go, especially since they keep changing.
I bought some wonderful wild sockeye salmon earlier today and we cooked it out on the barbecue on a cedar plank for dinner. The taste is marvelous when it's done that way, but I think we may wind up having to try another method (like tracking down some alder planks). Every time we use those blasted cedar planks, my sinuses give me fits, my eyes start to burn and my lungs close up. Stupid allergies. Yummy salmon, though.
We picked up our copies of the new Asheron's Call expansion today! Lots of fun new things to play with, in game... I've already created my first Viamontian character and named him William d'Bloody (because, unfortunately, William the Bloody was already taken).
I wasn't going to do that friends thingy that's going around, but then I really started taking a look at it and realized exactly how many of you I've met! So here it is: ( Copy your friends list. Bold the ones you have met in real life and italicize the ones you have talked with on the phone. With anybody you have only spoken to online, do nothing. If any of your friends have multiple journals, list only one. )
Wow. And I suspect that I've missed a few people I've actually met, for which I apologize. Some of the bolded folks are ones I may have only met very briefly at a convention... but I figured those should count (which is why I'm pretty sure I've missed some) and there are a few people not bolded where I'm honestly not sure who they are IRL (I'm just not putting a face to the LJ name). Surprisingly, there are only two people who fit in the "only talked on the phone" category... and equally surprising was realizing how many people I've actually spent some time with, not just a quick introduction or something.
