Lazy Sunday
Jul. 3rd, 2005 08:46 pmWell, mostly.
It started out well... woke up at a decent hour, went to church, came home, grilled some hamburgers (and caramelized onions, yum!), went over to a friend's house to secure their wireless network, then came home and took a nap (and had very strange, but kinda fun, dreams about building things in the backyard (plumbing and wood constructions) probably because I'd fallen asleep listening to HGTV).
For dinner, we cooked up some of the frozen meat pies I'd brought back with me from Aussie Eats on my last trip to Idaho Falls, served with mushy peas and Rosella Tomato Sauce. Super yummy!
Then we hopped on our brand new bikes (purchased yesterday and only ever ridden at the bike store when we were picking them out) and decided to go for a spin around the neighborhood. Unfortunately, our little neighborhood is mostly surrounded by hills... up in one direction, down in the others. We probably should have picked "up" as our initial choice, so the "down" would be on the way back when we were tired. It's a really busy road though, and since this was the first time either of us had really ridden in over ten years, we wanted as few distractions as possible.
So, down the hill to Edith Moulton Park and around the track there a few times, then back up the hill and home. And I'm completely and utterly exhausted. I thought that going to the gym three times a week for the last year and a half might make a difference... and maybe it did. I shudder to think what it would have been like if I *hadn't* been working out regularly. At least I'm no longer wondering whether bikeriding will be good exercise or not. Whew.
And now... I'm off to play some more Asheron's Call 2.
