JM's "Civilized Man" CD
Apr. 15th, 2005 07:20 pmMy copy of JM's new CD just arrived...
Whoa.
Guess who can sing?
I mean *really* sing? Not just "guilty pleasure -- I like him anyway" kind of singing.
Wow.
Not necessarily my prefered style of music, and he still seems to like doing songs about bad relationships with girls who are too immature *cough*. But his voice sounds fantastic! And the songs aren't bad, either... they're very listenable, and a few are even catchy.
In fact, for those who saw the GOTR performance on the Sharon Osbourne Show, that's a pretty good indication of what he sounds like. I wasn't getting my hopes up that it signified an entirely new sound for him. I mean, I'd heard rumors that he'd been taking lessons, but now I definitely believe it -- it sounds like he's developed good tone and good vocal control.
I was already looking forward to the CD (yeah, as a guilty pleasure), but what a pleasant surprise!
