JadeCon/GenCon and Beyond
Aug. 25th, 2004 08:55 pmYou know you've been away from home too long when you start having dreams about waking up in your own bed, chatting with your husband about nothing in particular, and using your own computer (at which point, it winds up NOT being your own computer, but that of the friend you're staying with... and husband-in-dream informs you that your computer won't work there because you're dreaming).
JadeCon was as much fun as last year... more, actually, since I really knew people this time and it was wonderful to see everyone again (making it a bit like a family reunion, except where I have something in common with everybody). Probably going to write more on this later, but I figured if I didn't get *something* posted now, I'd fall into the same old trap and never update again.
I also had a chance to visit with
merripen and her husband
krrayn who happen to live in Indianapolis -- and had one of those weird moments where I could swear I'd met them before... they both looked incredibly familiar. Even better, we have to hook their son (who insists on being called Obi Wan) up with my nephew (who insists on being called Yoda), there's something in there that tells me they'd probably hit it off really well. I've come to the conclusion the internet is a wonderful place for meeting incredibly cool people who live impossibly large distances away... someone needs to invent a stable and safe matter transmitter, stat.
