Quite a bummer... I just found out the Australian cafe where I've been buying Pavlova went out of business last month. :-(

The rest of their food was pretty good (they mostly did meat pies), but the Pavlova was to die for (and they made this wonderfully tasty passion fruit custard that I'd gotten hooked on). I guess that means I should give that Pavlova Magic stuff a try (yes, the ultimate in laziness... I ordered Pavlova Magic a few months ago from About Australia, and still haven't gotten around to making the stuff).

And in other news, the UniBic brand ANZAC biscuits I ordered several months ago are still back-ordered, with no sign of them yet in my local grocery store either (when I wrote the company last year, they replied that they had recently made a deal for US distribution to start sometime this year).

On the plus side, I did find a place not too far away that sells some Australian junk food, though I have no clue if it's any of the stuff I really like -- the Kangaroo & Kiwi Pub. Need to see about stopping by soon.

I missed the next to last episode during all of my travels... something I didn't realize until the confusion set in while watching the previouslies. So, after checking PanFandom and discovering they're still only up to Episode 19, I surfed out to the official website to read the summary for Episode 21 there and I was *still* confused by what was happening in last night's episode.

Not to say I didn't enjoy the episode, it just seemed to be a bit of a jumbled mess... like the end of the season caught them by surprise and they tried to cram in all of the plot points they'd missed along the way. It also didn't have the sort of extra zing I've come to expect from season finales (especially ones trying for a seven month cliffhanger).

They almost needed something more shocking... because we already know that Jack had done some experimenting on Syd when she was a child. I'd also lay long odds that when the episode was written not even Mr. Abrams knew what was on the papers Syd was reading... Or maybe I'm just cynical because of my Whedon experience. It's the way the scene was played though, that screams out to me "We don't know where we're going with this!"

On the plus side, we got to see Sark all covered in sexy wounds (though I could have done without seeing the actual torture... my arm still aches in sympathy). And am I the only person who still, briefly, flashes on "Tron" whenever someone says the name Sark?

Gakked from [livejournal.com profile] ww1614, [livejournal.com profile] shipperx, and a ton of others...

Sunday
Alias (starting in January (!!!))
Extreme Makeover: Home Edition

Monday
Farscape (don't laugh -- I never watched the show when it was on, and now I'm going through it an episode a week)

Tuesday

Wednesday
Um. Nothing I can think of. I may try catching the last five or ten minutes of Smallville as I've done for the past several years. Or not.

Thursday
I'm thinking I may start watching Tru Calling -- especially now that Jane Espenson is going to be writing for the show.

Friday
Joan of Arcadia

Saturday
Nothing I can think of.

I may be missing something, since I haven't kept up on pilot news... and there are always shows on BBCAmerica worth catching.
