Now I'll have to learn to make Pavlova
May. 24th, 2004 10:02 amQuite a bummer... I just found out the Australian cafe where I've been buying Pavlova went out of business last month. :-(
The rest of their food was pretty good (they mostly did meat pies), but the Pavlova was to die for (and they made this wonderfully tasty passion fruit custard that I'd gotten hooked on). I guess that means I should give that Pavlova Magic stuff a try (yes, the ultimate in laziness... I ordered Pavlova Magic a few months ago from About Australia, and still haven't gotten around to making the stuff).
And in other news, the UniBic brand ANZAC biscuits I ordered several months ago are still back-ordered, with no sign of them yet in my local grocery store either (when I wrote the company last year, they replied that they had recently made a deal for US distribution to start sometime this year).
On the plus side, I did find a place not too far away that sells some Australian junk food, though I have no clue if it's any of the stuff I really like -- the Kangaroo & Kiwi Pub. Need to see about stopping by soon.
