Stuff from Australia!
Feb. 6th, 2004 04:42 pmOh frabjous day!!
The stuff I ordered from Everything Australian arrived today! So, now I'm happily crunching on Arnott's classic assorted biscuits (the Australians really know how to make cookies... all nice and crunchy) and trying to decide when I should attempt to make my first batch of chocolate crackles with the Copha and desiccated coconut I ordered. Or should I see if that Pavlova Magic stuff is any good, first? Oh, and I got some more chicken crisps... though they only sell the small, individual serving size bags, which makes it tough to share. :-) And
rackham was very happy to find out that I'd ordered some Nutra-Grain cereal (and, oddly, they sent us two boxes while only charging us for one).
The one sad thing is that the ANZAC biscuits I ordered from About Australia aren't in stock at the moment... though they expect to have more sometime in March. Hopefully the person from UniBic wasn't just feeding me a line when she said they'd already made a deal with a US distributor to start selling their ANZAC biscuits here later this year.
It's funny, because I never thought it would be Australian food I would wind up getting hooked on... though I guess it makes a bit of sense, considering how much I like British food, and there are definitely some similarities in taste. The amount of junkfood I normally buy on my trips to Canada should have been a bit of a tip off, as well.
And can someone tell me why the US is the only nation in the English speaking world that *doesn't* drink lemon squash???
