Lazy Week, Busy Day
Oct. 6th, 2003 09:44 pmIt's been quite a week... a nasty head cold that migrated to my lungs to become bronchitis, and I'm finally getting to a point where I think I'll be able to sleep tonight without waking up coughing. Hooray!
However, after a week of doing nothing but coughing and staring at the television, the computer screen or a book, I managed to get quite a bit done today. I weeded through a bunch of our old video tapes (the sort filled with movies we taped off TV) and tossed out the ones we don't need anymore (whether because they're filled with movies I'm not interested in seeing again, or because we've managed to buy the DVDs). I bought a drawer unit thingy to store the remaining video tapes, and I cleared off two and a half bookcases in the guest room... then filled them up again with the Mystery/Thriller/Suspense section of our book collection. Oh, and the "Men's Adventure" section, which is something of a misnomer, since those books are mine! I was finally able to go through my Destroyer books to figure out which ones I'm missing (only five out of 115, and they're all #80 or higher, shouldn't be too hard to track down, now that I know what I need). That's the first time in a little over five years any of those books have been out of the box, and I can't believe it's taken us so long to get things settled enough to unpack them.
Overall, I racked up an impressive FIVE empty moving boxes out of today's efforts. If I keep this up, we might eventually get rid of the stack in the Library/Computer room so we can reach the back half of the room.
