How many have your name?

I even used my real first name and not my nickname. This would be the plus side of having a very uncommon last name, which I suppose makes up for no one ever knowing how to spell it. Or pronounce it.

ETA: Okay, now I'm wondering how accurate this is, since it's claiming there's no one in the US with my father-in-law's name. Now, I know he travels abroad a lot, but he is still based in the US!

I used to hate having such a common name. My name is just one step behind "Bill Smith." But in the age of the internet? I love it! You really cannot find me on Google :)

Ha, there are three people in the US with my name! Who knew. Still, you are the champeen...

How Accurate?

Well, there are thousands of me, but according to the Meme, my wife does not exist.

I got the big Zero with my name. Apparently NO ONE has my name. It's really not that accurate. It's just a probability thing.

It's definitely a probability thing. They're using the Census data that reports name frequencies, so basically they are asking what's the chance that your name is "Jennifer", and then multiplying that by the chance that your name is "Mitchell".

If you dig through the details on the page, you'll see it.

Yes, I'm a stats geek.

Like your father-in-law, I do not exist.

Actually, I'm glad they're not using the data on the really rare names, like mine. As far as I've been able to tell, I'm the only person with any presence on the internet at all that has my first and last name combination.

I'm pretty sure it was wrong on mine, because it said there was no one in the US with the first name "Jerusha" and I know of other Jerushas, although I've not met one.

Yeah... it also says there are zero people in the US named Fen and I know that's not true either. I may just go by that name, but I've run across at least two other people named Fen, although not in person -- one was a male Russian-American author who did a book signing at a store over in Seattle and the other was an Irish-American actress living in Chicago, I think (although hers may have been a nickname, as well).
