fenchurch: (Looking Up)

I went out walking for half an hour this morning with [livejournal.com profile] taradaktyl (we've actually gotten pretty good about going every day, when I'm in town), got home and decided today was the day to get back on the full exercise bandwagon. This week my PT had cleared me for starting up again at Curves, as long as I remember to take it easy with the upper body... and I figured if I didn't get started now, I'd probably never do it.

To my extreme surprise, I was able to do an entire workout! Granted, on some of the upper body stuff it was enough just to get the machine moving, no way I'd be able to power through a lot of reps (I did have to stop myself a few times, because I'd start to go at it like I used to, and that's just not feasible at the moment). There was one upper body machine where I was able to do it with my left arm all of five times... the other arm was able to move it once (and that was the second time on the machine). My upper body muscles are completely shot.

But! No pain! Or at least no real pain, just some achiness, but I'm used to that now. And now I'm all hyper and energetic. It's a wonder I didn't get started exercising sooner... I'm one of those lucky people who gets instant rewards from the experience, once I get off my computer chair and do it.
