Greetings from Snoqualmie Pass!

Well, we're on our way to Utah for Christmas and the trip is off to a rolicking start. We haven't even quite made it to the Pass yet and we're already stopped because of the weather. Apparently, people weren't heeding the "traction tires or chains required" warning and there were a number of spinouts on the Pass... They've got all trafic stopped while they clear the roadway.

Nasty driving conditions, but we're in no particular hurry.

In other news, we finally got new phones a week ago, so now I've really got internet access wherever I go (the screen slides up to reveal a keyboard and then flips up to look like a teeny little laptop) plus I can easily check my email. Within two days, I couldn't imagine how'd I'd ever lived without it. ::hugs phone::

In Kennewick for the night

( It took us about three hours to go 45 miles over Snoqualmie Pass. )

We decided to just stop in Kennewick for the night after talking to my mom and finding out that Meacham Pass has been closed on and off all day, which means that the hotel rooms in Pendleton are likely to all be taken. Not a bad jumping off point for tomorrow though, and the roads are supposed to be pretty good along the entire route.

Still makes for a long day... especially since I had physical therapy this morning before we left and he really worked me over. Ow. Advil is my friend.

Oh! And I got the last of the cards sent out today!! Yay! I think this is the earliest I've ever gotten done with them (and I'm ashamed to admit there have been years *cough*lastyear*cough* where I've barely gotten any in the mail at all).

I've also received so many cards from people on my flist! I wish I'd been better about updating so I could have mentioned them as they started arriving... I think I may have to just post the picture I took of all of them hanging on the wall at the top of the stairs. I did get one just today that came from one of the my friends in Austin, but didn't include a return address and had nothing written in it. My prime suspect is valkyrie_kitten... you didn't by any chance send out cards with a cute dog on them, did you?
